Listening to the latest mix now, sounds a lot better than I remember. The snare sounds quite good...

finally lol, now i can move on to the next mix/song

FattMusiek-appreciate the listen as well as the feedback.

M.brane-thanks for the help as always. Its funny that you should mention Franziskaner. I cook in a restraunt that has Franziskaner on tap and i have probably served it 3 or 4 times in the two years ive been working there. Anyhow if i was old enough to buy alcohol i would send one your way lol.

Fantastik!

I seldom listen to this kind of music - I was raised on that old hippie-flowerchild-summer-o'-love stuff - and now I'm just an old fart - but this is way too cool to not talk about. I couldn't mix this kind of music to save my life so let me address the musical part - fantastic! The level of musicianship here is way, way, way up there in the stratosphere. And the tune makes perfect muscial sense - there are 'classical' influences all over the place. The writing and development of the theme throughout the tune is top-notch and kicks serious ass. The guitar tones are killer and the playing is close to immaculate. Even though this wouldn't make my daily "I-gotta-hear-this" list - after a couple o' JDs I'd be reaching for this one - I'd definitely add it to my collection of CDs just because ist's all done so thoughtfully and professionally.
Best of luck on your move - I'm anxious to hear some more of your stuff - this is pro!!

Dude I'm just listening again. One word: insane.

Great work. Good production + good songwriting = one hell of a track. Keep rockin'.

mc gitarz- thanks for all the kind words and compliments. I will have been playing guitar 7 years this october and i really feel like im just getting started lol. Ive got loads of partial music put together but im having alot of trouble finding anyone who is into this style or has the playing abillity to recreate it. Hopefully once i get to a bigger city there will be alot more people who will be willing to help me expand on this stuff. It got to the point with the last people i was working with that I was having to orchestrate everything (drums, vocal lines, bass). Im really hoping to find some people that kick my ass and really can expand on my ideas. Someone who can bring something up to the plate instead of having to be told what to do. Thanks again for the feedback.
Rewt- thanks for the listen and compliments as well. Is your name a reference to the slipknot guitarist? Just curious.

Nah it's a lame unix reference. I was into slipknot a long while ago but I never knew any of their names beyond the numbers and occasionally "the clown one" lol

ahh thats cool

i don't really like them either, i just read alot of guitar magazines. I believe one of the guitarist names is Jim root or rewt. Im not even sure why i asked lol.

Wireneck:

I am generally not a fan of this type of stuff, but I gotta tell ya...

YOU ROCK!!!!

The guitar tones, performance, and technique are all A-1.

I felt the power of this cut, and it sounded great cranked-up.

My only gripe is what you have already heard...That the cymbal crashes were too abrasive, too loud.
And I think there were too many of them also.

And what the heck?...You put this under "Alternative"? :D

But I am impressed with what you have done.

Keep up the great shreddin!

Village Idiot- thanks for the listen man. The comments and compliments are appreciated. As ive said before there is little i can do with the drummer. He doesn't understand the meaning of dynamics lol. Its ok though, hes still young (18) and has plenty of time to figure it out.
thanks again

Okay, I'm going to be an ass and not read any of the prior posts (you've got a long thread here!).

Wow. Tight. Great chops on every instrument.

Very old-school. Yngwie Malmsteen meets Slayer. I don't hear much to complain about mix-wise. Everything's amazingly clean, well-separated and played to perfection. I'd probably bring the drum levels down in a couple of places, but overall everything's good. Real nice song.

It's good to hear label-quality shit like this on a home recording site. Nice work!

Piltdown Man

Piltdown man- thanks for the listen and compliments man. "Very old-school. Yngwie Malmsteen meets Slayer" I get this comparison alot but I can't say that i was ever into alot of the older metal guys i get compared to lol.
I guess it has alot to do with the amount of aggressiveness and precision i try and implement in my writing. Hopefully it doesn't come across as loads of notes with no feeling (most peoples complaint with the old school players). I always try to counteract it with something melodic and on the simpler side of things. thanks again for the listen
