What would be the best way to record a guitar player who has a Mesa Triple rectifier head with the presence pretty high? thanks for your time.

Have them properly eq and set their head that way you aren't having to yank on the highs in post recording eq. The best way to mic the triple, which is what i have, is just keep everything flat on the mixer and have the amp itself eq'ed to sound right. Sounds more natural. Also, keep the volume as high as you can get without noise/feedback. The triple is a higher wattage tube than say the dual, and to get the true tone, it's gotta be loud. Just my 2 cents.

Yes turn it up and use multiple mics on different speakers. mess with your mic placement. Move them around until it sounds right. Mic placement is of #1 importance when recording guitars.
