I have some limited funds to upgrade my PC. What will go the furthest in terms of performance in regards to digital recording:
maxing out my memory (from 64mb to 384mb),
or
upgrading hard drive to a 7200 rpm 20 gb. (from a 6 something hard drive)?

For your scenario, you'd notice more benefit from upgrading your RAM than your hard drive. However, IMHO a better solution would be to compromise. Go to 256MB RAM and get a smaller 7200 RPM drive.

I'm guessing that you can the hard drive for about $130 and the RAM for about $100. If you have to do either/or, go with the RAM.
