ashly sc50

MOTU 828
Presonus TubePre x2 (yeah, yeah, know I know better...)
FMR RNC
$20 Boss Compressor
BBE 362 Sonic Maximizer

Soon to have: patchbay, and power conditioner.

I practice minimalism.

The mixer is a Mackie Onyx 16 channel w/ firewire. That's a boatload right there.

Racks are simple and generally used for live sound:

DOD 31 channel stereo graphic EQ for live work

Assortment of preamps and blenders - Presonus Acoustic tube blender, Blue Tube preamp, M-Audio DMP3 preamp. That last one got heavy rotation until the Onyx mixer came along.

BBE Maxcom optical compressor / limiter w/ enhancer circuit (this has saved my butt countless times in live circumstances)

Old Alesis reverb (yeah... it works. Better than no reverb)

Sometimes I use a second mixer for drums - Have a Mackie CFX with some nice onbiard effects. I've used it as an effects box before. And it has a crossover for a subwoofer output.

Madison / Legion 200 watt amp to power a pair of BOSE personal monitors.

Sondcraftsmen 1000 watt class H stereo amp to drive a pair of 18" subwoofers. That sucker would dim the lights all over town if I let it. Built like a concrete bunker.

That's it for now. A Driverack would be nice...or about anything ever built by Eventide.

my rack

minimal, but it works live and for recording

phonic mr2443 mixer
digitech quad v2
art quadra/fx
alesis midiverb II
phonic pcl3200 dual compressor
soundtech 2x400w linear (I will upgrade this to a 4x400 or so when I can)

mxl990 x2
nady cm88 x2
bunch of nady sp5 & sp3

usual glue (cables, adapters, power, UPS for computer)

this is both recording and live sound.

mixer connects either by insert or direct out to two terratec phase 88's in my studio computer. I use protracks, audition, and sibelius for finishing.

computer is nothing special since the phase 88's don't need a lot of outside cpu. Hot-swap SATA drives are the nice feature.

Pro VLA
Lexi LXP-II
Midiverb IV
Meek MQ3
A.R.T. EQ

here's my new baby rig:

MOTU 896 HD
BBE Sonic Maximizer (balanced version)
(free, old) zoom guitar fx processory (actually some very cool-crappy fx)
2 1/4" balanced pathbays
Behringer V-amp Pro (used to have a POD, but this kicks much more ass)
M-Audio 8x8 MidiSport
2 Furman Power condit's
and my new favorite piece:
Focusrite Platinum Penta (single channel pre, stereo outs, nice compressor)
SM Pro Audio 8 channel DI

Rack Update

Just added two API 512c preamps and two API 550b EQs.

Think I'll unload the RNP since it's become superfluous.

I need a better compressor too. What a dilemma. :D

Hmm....I am trying to picture it.

Forman power something-or-other
a midi patchbay from Kaia (or some similar spelliing)
Digidesign 002 Rack
TC Helicon Voice Works Harmonizer
Yamaha Motif Rack es
Focusrite Twin Two Pro preamp
Some pre midi digital reverb that's just there to keep it off the floor or finding it's way into my landry hamper.

J.P.

 I have almost completed my guitar rig.

8 space rack: [In Order from top to bottom]
Fender (Korg) RT-1000 Rackmount Tuner
Furman PL-8 Series II power conditioner
(Double Empty Space)
BBE 362 Sonic Maximizer
TC electronics G Major
(Double Empty Space)

The first empty space is for the preamp I am purchasing. I'm pretty set on a Mesa Boogie Rectifier Recording Preamp. The second space is of course for my power amp. Still havn't chosen one but the 2:100 is promising.

My next project will be a nice recording rack set.

Furman RP-8 power conditioner
Furman RP-8D power conditioner
Tascam FW-1804 firewire interface
Alesis 3630 compressor (shut up, I'm on a really tight budget)
BOSS GX-700 guitar effects processor
KORG DTR-1000 Tuner
PreSonus Eureka channel strip

those of you with the behringer compressors...what do you think of them? I'm looking into buying one that's not over 150 bucks.

I envy all of you...no rack, no units, nothing...just my Tascam US-122 and my laptop ;) .

Aardvark q10
Art Gold MPA Tube pre-amps
Lexicon MPX-500

soon to be:
