I must be living right or something. A few years ago another friend parked most of his Sony condenser collection and a U-87 here so they would get some regular use.

Well I too love your playing--so I know they were put to good use!

i guess my opinion would have to also rely on what you are using them for...but more than likely...you've got a bit of redundancy going here on some not so terrific mics...

in the 100 dollar range...there's a few good dynamics you need to have instead of not so good condensers

yeah which dynamics should i get ?

I'm using it for rapping and singing

well...if they're just for vocals...your best bet would be to sell them and get one good cardiod condensor that works well on your voice...

or even better for rap, not a condensor at all....sm7b...but you need a decently powerful preamp to push that

Geez...I hate to post on the same page as some of these others--especially rimmic! (Nice collection, man!) But I've been meaning to forever, so here goes. I'm a guitarist first, so there's lots of cab type dynamics. Beyond that, my theme is three simple words: "Cheap, obscure or old."

I love the duct-taped 421s in the group :) (not that I have even one 421 :( ) -- I plan to do a post here with beforeHR/afterHR photos soon. I think I'm going to wait until rimmic's post is a few pages away :o

Thanx WhiteStrat & antichef.

WhiteStrat, i´d love to see a close-up from that Crystal harp mic, really interesting!

Sure, check back later. I'll post some pics of it. It is interesting. It's 1/4" Hi Z to go to an amp, just like the old harp mics. It's also got an on/off toggle switch that fits right between your fingers to kill the signal real quick.

rimmic,

Here's a closer look at that one (with some props so you can see just how small this is--and yes, it really is made in a salt shaker.):

Really nice, thanx a ton!!
I wonder how would vocals record through that mic...

I haven't recorded anything with it yet, much less vocals, but that is how I "soundchecked" it--just plugged it in and talked & yelled into it--very midrangey and almost overdriven sounding.

Just what i need...how much for it?;)

Dude--I only paid $25 USD for it! For me it's not about the money, it's about collecting 'em--that's why I've kept all my old cheapies too. So what I'm saying is...it's not for sale. But I'll see if I can find the guy who made it and you can ask him to make one for you--sound good?

That was easy...

Here's his eBay store:

http://stores.ebay.com/FAB-zound-FACTORY

I don't see any just like the one I have, but there are other similar ones. I bet he can make one just like that, though. Just tell him you want one like he sold to 93whitestrat--that's me on eBay.

Good luck!
