listening to the first track - Last One Remains .. Really dig the guitar sounds, and riffs. Cool part with the group vocals there. Vocals stand out nice. Im not too good for mix comments, but I thought it was cool for sure.

Take care

Listened to the first track. The vocals in the beginning (clean) sound like they need some verb/delay or something to sit within the mix a little better. The gang vocal section reminds me of stuck mojo or Method 51 from back in the day. The riff around 1:28 is really cool, nice groove. Didn't really care for the breakdown torwards the end. What did you use for the guitars? They are a little shrill for my taste, I think a less high gain sound would sound alot heavier. They sound like they might be direct right now. Listening at a low volume though. The keyboard/programmed stuff was cool but kind of sparse? Maybe work that into the track more. From a composition stand point they seem to pop in and out at random.

I had delay going on them before, but the singer wanted his voice with less effects, so I switched it to a very very subtle delay, only 20ms, so it is barely noticable. Yes, the guitar is direct via Pod XT Pro. I just put keys in where I see fit usually... I'm not really a keyboard player though, I just wanted to add an industrial feel to some of it.

I actually like the guitar sound I have right now, just becuase I think it fits the style. Also, I tune down to A, so certain setups don't sound as clear. I have my gain down to 60% and have 8 tracks recorded, 4 panned hard left and 4 panned hard right. I'm not sure if I would want to reduce the gain anymore than I already have.

I added some reverb to the clean vocals, and they seem to sit much better in the mix now. Check it out.

The vox are too loud or not compressed right. As others said add a touch of reverb. I would add around 9%.
Not liking the distorted guitar tone. Sounds muddy and a little brittle also. Sounds like you might have scooped alot of mids out of the Pod or recording. Impressive for a Pod. Try cutting some more los on the guitars at mixing.
Drums are samples yeah? Sound ok although a little obvious.
All in all a nice mix.
But fix the vox (maybe take the delay away) and guitars and you should have a pretty decent mix dude.
Good work.

Last one remains

I went back and gave the vocals another shot... I'm still new a vocals... Now it seems like the "s" sound comes out too much. When I use a deEsser though it cuts out too much high end if I overdo it.

I took out some of the harshness on the guitars too.

I dont like De-essers. If there is too much "ss" sounds then just retrack.

Maybe I will tell the singer to get one of those pop filters, see if that works out for us... at least it will get rid of the p sound that comes through.

Thats a really good idea. Pop filters are very very handy.
You can make them out of a pair of tights and a coathanger, although Ive heard they are pretty cheap these days anyway.

I think there is a bit to much low end on the gutiars, it makes it very hard to hear the bass, other than that a reall nice song :)

I'll go back and see how much I boosted the low end on the guitars in the EQ. Yes, those pop filters are as low as 20 bux, by that company on stage.

Nice sounds. I can't add anymore than what has already been said. But I like the tune, overall. Good luck with it. It has some great potential.
