Very nice Bob, I especially like that amber tone on the neck. The white wood look on most Fenders these days is just kind of boring-your neck (oh yeah, the whole guitar for that matter) has some absolute coolness!

Thanks Tony. The Ernie Ball/Music Man Axis (which is what kind of body this is) has a very light maple neck. I just knew I wanted something richer & warmer than that--thus the dark amber neck.
But I gotta tell ya, it was too amber--even orange, when it arrived. I was going for "bling" with this one, so I order the high gloss. And it was just too shiny. So before I even put it on the body, I spent hours sanding just the fingerboard--all the way to 000 steel wool and 1200 grit paper. The result made me very happy.
The back and headstock retain all the bling of the high gloss, but the fingerboard itself is now matte, and a good few shades lighter than it was before. Took a few hours, but it was just what the doctor ordered.NICE!
Those samples were from my POD--my down and dirty standby. Since then, I've really dialed it in on my Carvin Legacy. I'll track it and post a sample to prove my point, but suffice it to say--it's a marriage made in rock and roll heaven.
