I used the "Fade out function" on my Masterlink today on a new song.
I have the song running with a repeating chorus at the end for about 30 seconds to make sure i would get a smooth fade.
When i set the fade to 10 seconds i can still hear the song abruptly end because it is fading the last 10 seconds of information.
Is there a way i can have the fade end (down to Inaudible) before the actual song ends?
Thanks

That's what the fade does - brings the level down to infinity - either in linear fashion or logarithmic, depending on the fade curve you choose.

If you're not hearing the fade after your set the FD OUT time, then you're doing something wrong.

I do hear the fade, problem is i can still hear the music end even though it is very, very low in volume at that point.
I want to be able to set a fade for say 10 seconds long starting at 30 seconds before the song actually ends.
Not sure if it is possible?

You have to use the trim function to chop-off the song where you want you fade to end, then set your FD OUT to the number of secs you want back from that point.

Example: I mixed down a song and it runs 3:30 - the last 5 secs are silence (extra space from the mixdown) and I want a 10 sec fade starting at 3:15 and out at 3:25.

I use the trim function to cut-out the 5 secs I don't want (thus making the song length 3:25), and then set the FD Out to 10 secs. meaning the fade will start at 3:15 and be at infinity by 3:25.
