Mastering website plagiarism

For me, Diskfaktory.com still uses a smaller version of the pic at the very bottom in the clickable box for going to their diskfaktory-matering.com website. But it is now missing from the mastering website itself. (You have to hit refresh to flush the old graphic.)

P.S. @ WhiteStrat: I love the new pic. Kinda ironic that a Strat has a pic of a Telly. :D (j/k)

wow, yeah, went to the main site and saw the pic.

It's a good thing that groups of people like you catch this stuff. I would have just assumed that it was a picture of their studio. I've never had them master for me, but I have sent repo jobs to them in the past. Never again.

Then it would simply go from "theft" to "flagrant misrepresentation."

I don't disagree at all...I was just saying what the likely reason for it was (lots of "web designers" who don't know what they are doing just pull images from Google Image search) when there are special websites for royalty free images.

I've had people copy content from my site word for word as well as even try to piggyback on my domain name (themasteringhouse.com in place of masteringhouse.com).

Nothing new, and won't be the last of these. They tend to go away in about a year.

Here's a word of advice if you start a website/get a domain name...

Type your desired domain name really fast 10 times...look at all the ones with spelling mistakes and register those too...;)

Turtlerock is practically an icon amongst the Australian audio community.
The owner Rick O'Niel has a well deserved reputation that has been built up over decades.
Additionally he writes a monthly article for Audiotechnology magazine and has a who's who client list to his name and business.

Of course he's pissed off. That photo of his studio represent years of hard work and expense, to be the best in the country.
Rick has every right to sue and in fact his photographer is sending the offending site owner a bill for use of the copyright image....

(Lot's of detail revealed in latest Audiotechnology mag)
