I am thinking about getting one or two of these for vocals, acoustic, and drum overhead. Is this a good idea? The main reason I picked it is because of budget. What do you think? Are there any better ones at around the same price?

V57

I say spend the extra $20 and get an SP-B1, which will do anything the V57 does and more, and sound better doing it. I have both and usually only use the V57 on amp cabs when my B1's are occupied elsewhere. Come to think of it, I haven't used the V57 in over six months---time to play with it again.

The V57 I own is very sibilant and scooped sounding. The only thing I've found it useful for was in front of a choir. Not sure why, just something about the frequiency curve that was pleasing. Definately the B1 would be preferable to me.
