There are a lot of threads about marketing bands. Anyone have any good ideas on marketing a home studio? I have a website and am getting some business but want to really get it out there. Anything worked for anyone?

advertise.. get really involved with the music scene.. maybe offer studio time as a prize at a battle of the bands. Are there any indie labels in and around your town? talk to them about working together (at a discounted rate if they always send their bands to you)

things like that

Thanks for the ideas. I am on the scene as a drummer, but guess I need to think about using it for advertising. As of now I have doing most of my advertising online, because that is how the site works, people come online, fill out info about their tunes, and upload their MP3's. So no one even comes to me, I just lay down drums on their tracks. Thanks for the tips, I'll look past the internet for a while and see if that helps.

yeah for sure.. The internet is a great tool don't get me wrong.. but real interaction is ALWAYS better

Are you offering drum tracks only or complete studio services?

I see a few advertisements in magazines such as Recording or American Songwriter for people who are doing drum tracks. I would guess a small ad there could generate a little business then it's word of mouth aftewards.

If you're going to offer complete studio services, you can hit the live shows and pass out business cards, cd's or even small usb drives with some of your work on it.

Hmm, party with the band after their show and write it off as a business expense. That's works.....

Cheers,

post a lot of free but quality stuff in youtube.
with youtube you could be tagged with the same artist with greater fanbase with the same type of music or style as yours.
i saw a lot of youtube artists doing covers of pop songs too.
