Hello home recording people:

My guitarist and I are starting a small home studio, and I am wondering what you could reccomend for a good audio interface and sound card. We are looking at the Mark of the Unicorn 2408 MKII, so if you have any info on how good this is, please respond. We plan on going into our Mackie 1604 and then transfering the outs from that into the MOTU into Cubase SX. If anyone can critique this or reccomend another good audio interface/sound card, have at it.

I would definately get the 2408 mkIII if anything. I mean, it seems like a waste to get the mkII unless you can find an amazing price.

The mkII will go on blowout soon probably for around 500$. I would probably get that becauset eh MK3 is a bit much still. I am pretty sure I will pick up another MKII later this year when the price drop hits. God Bless new technology. The 2408 works wonderfully. It comes highly recommended from me.

I use the 2408mkII. It sounds great and at $500.00 is well worth it in my opinion.

One thing to remember with MOTU: Their support is the WORST! If you have any problems, don't count on them for help.
