I've tried all I can find about unticking the "what you hear" and all that. today found a great deal on soundblaster external sound card. I've read and belived the track bleeding MUST be in the hdw cause I've tried everything else,,,, got it in,,, sure enough ,it still bleeds! in cool edit & audacity etc....
please somebody have mercy and help me figure this out thanks

Just because it's a great deal doesn't mean it's a wise purchase.

I'd start by hooking up an interface that's more applicable to the purpose.

didnt give good info

well it was wise for $20 new in the box and I was gonna get one anyway for my home comp so i thought wth, give it a try. my logic being that, Ive read of folks using old sb 24bit cards to run cool edit w/ no prob and this is supposed to be better. i should have also said Ive tried m-audio and behringer firewire breakout boxes and still no luck... this was more of a cheap, what if, idea. back to the basic problem, regardless the tracks still bleed over and i've done all i can find to fix it and nothings worked. is there something I'm missing? well I must be just i dont know what. thanks Jesse

Are you hearing the bleed no matter how you listen - headphones, monitors?

How do you have the soundblaster set up - USB? How was your previous sound getting in - also USB?

I had m-audio firewire solo hooked up and a guy came by and "helped" me and changed stuff
and it started the bleed thru. read about there are folks using sb live 24 internal card thats what mine has so i tried it no luck, good sound but still bleed thru. read others had the same probs and fixes but they havent helped me... found the previously mentioned sb live external it works off USB sounds great but still the bleed over. my fun hobby isnt fun anymore ........
it records well but the bleeding ruins any chance to multi track thanks for your intrest amybe you can help me. Jesse

Please don't Double Post. You asked this question once and got some feedback. Might not have fixed your problem, but starting a new one won't fix it either.

So, what exactly are you calling track bleed?? What are you monitoring with??

Ummmm... okayyyy....

the host servers crashed over night and lost everything posted since yesterday. So your previous post was lost, as was mine that asked if you were using a mixer.

So, are you using a mixer?? Or if you'd rather I not try to help you. That's okay, too.
