Making Trance?

Iv been producing for some time now slowly geting closer
to the sound I want which is Trance/Techno.
Iv got a Roland JV1080 with a techno board and a Korg X5
I know my kit list is very minimal.

Im sequencing in Cubase VST32 and Im still not geting the raw sound needed for this kind of music. I know you do need
more gear than what Iv got but what gear do I get? and is there such a thing as a budget setup that produces the high
quality I want. Whats the best and whats the essencial gear?

I dont want to slap samples together I want to produce averythink from start to finninsh as Iv been doing for a long time now, I dont mind using the odd sample here and there.

id try to get a small rhythm machine. maybe having just device for drums and devices for other sounds would work. i used to sequence drums from a keayboard and never was truly happy with my results either but i got a rhythm machine and that cured me.good luck
