Making a new setup?

Hey, this is my first post, but I've lurked around a bit before making my name.

Anyway, my band is set for recording a new demo on our own for a lower cost than professional studios cost. We were fine, but then our MOTU 896HD kinda crapped out on us, and it's being sent to MOTU to get fixed. But this could take months to get back from what I've read about their customer service...

Anyway, so I was wondering about alternative ways to record. We have a 24 channel Yamaha mixer, and I know there's a way to connect it to my computer. I'm using a mac book pro going into apple logic.

would something like that allow me to hook up the mixer to computer and be able to use multiple tracks at once? We're going to try and record a drum set- which we have 7 mics for, and I'd much prefer to have 7 tracks than 1 "master drum track"

Sorry if this is a really silly question answered a buncha times.

Looks like that only has 2 inputs. Mixers that can record separate tracks are usually Firewire setup. If you plan to use your mixer to do what you want, it has to have outputs from each channel (usually called inserts) and you need an interface with as many inputs as you plan to use, which sounds like 10 or more.
