Im looking into building a new computer and I was thinking I could get a 5 bay one and set up 4 burners as the slave to offer CD duplication. Is there any reason why this cant be done?

You'd need to get one or two extra IDE/SCSI controllers. Other than that, maintaining bandwidth will be the only concern. For that reason, I'd say get SCSI, but you may be able to get by with IDE.

I am very interested in this. Keep us posted as you find out more.

The problem is keeping two burners on the same IDE channel fed. Sustained transfer rates is where SCSI really eats IDE for lunch, and sustained transfer rates is what you need. You could, perhaps, chain four SCSI burners off of one controller and burn them at slower speeds, something I don't think you could do with IDE.

Ah... that's an awesome point Elevate. I'm not too up on SCSI. I should be but I'm not.

So, I guess you could do the four SCSI drives and some sort of burning software that will burn to multiple drives at once.

Either fornat, I'd like to see this work. I may just have to try it myself :D

Peace,
Brad
