You DO sound like Winwood. Good tune. No, great tune. I'd love to hear this with real drums and such. Good chops on the lead. I don't hear a bass. Is there not one or is it MIA?
Thanks Track Rat! There is no bass on this yet. I have to get my bass playing friend mjhamil to lay some down, then I'll remix and probably repost. Just wanted to get some feedback on the basic tracks....

Thanks for checking it out Will - I'll check the drum levels out on this when I add bass guitar to the mix.....

I'd appreciate any feedback and comments you can provide on the mix.

The vocal is awesome man!So good that I am left with no choice than to mention that the rythm guitar is out of tune.(sorry Ido,you are always nice
to me about my tunes, but I thought you would want to know)
As far as mix,not much seperation between vox and guitar. That vox really needs to be at the front of this tune.
You do get an A+ plus on old school appeal and talent!

Hey SHEPPARDB-thanks for the feedback, glad you like the vox and the old school style... :D
I'll have to check the tuning on my guitar. I tuned it and then played/recorded a number of tracks - might have slipped a bit between tracks. I can re-record the guitars when I add bass....
Thanks again for taking the time to check it out !

Man, how did I miss this? I'm always on the lookout for your tunes ido. I missed this one.

Anyway, great as usual, and actually better than usual. Great song and great job playing it and producing it. I've listened about 3 times now, and I honestly can't comment on the mix because I'm caught up in how well everything flows together. So, I guess the mix is right on! Guitars sound great, vocals sound great. Just add the bass and don't change anything else.

Awesome. :)

Bump it up.
Sorry, such a flash piece I had to listen again &, of course, bring it to the attention of any willfull non listeners out there.

Sounds good.

I really like that feel in this tune.

Kinda gets me thinkin of Free.

This is true classic, sweet guitar sound.
Great preformance.

I have no nits at all just great work.

And thanks for sharing, it was really enjoyable :)

that's pretty good... is that you singing. sounds like Steve Winwood (I think)

do you have a compressor across the master buss. there's something going on with the kick...

I really like this!!! I've listened to 30 seconds and have made up my mind :D
It's so very clean and prestine! Very cool! Great guit tones & vocals. Drums fit well, bass guit is a little shy but fits the song. You might try pumping it up a bit for more depth though.

When I say pump up the bass I mean just a little more low end.
You may have to screw a bit with the kick to keep up.
Nothing much though.

What can I say. Great job!

F.S.

I'm confused, you seem to have two soundclick artists pages, one for Hamilton Steele and one for the G&M Project. Why the difference? It is not as though you are doing gansta rap on one and need to keep your street cred!

BTW I love your stuff and was happy to have it on Open Mic Night at the Cafe Virtuale #1. You remind me of Dire Straits

Rayc - thanks for the bump.....glad to hear your studio is repaired and ready to use again. Your CD continues to entertain us on our daily travels through the cold tundra.... ;)

Nakatira - thanks for the listen and the kind words...Following the advice I received here, I am using a mic on my Marshall now rather than direct. I do find it has a much better sound.

K.P. - thanks - yes that's me singing....*clears throat*. Thanks for the comp to Steve Winwood.....don't mind that at all..... Yes I do have a compressor over the master on the downmix...Triple C. Can you expand on what you hear with the kick? I'm a newb when it comes to mixing....

Freudian Slip - thanks for the listen also and the kind words.... The bass guitar still needs to be recorded on this. I would expect a bit of a high pass on the guitars once I get it recorded and do a remix.

Innovations - I'm recording my songs at my place and posting them under G&M Project. Right now HSB is songs written by my bass playing friend mjhamil and recorded at his place. HSB also involves a live drummer (Lee). Eventually we expect to record everything with HSB....it just takes time and coordinating schedules....

Very well!
What else to say?
My post is late anyway and everything is already said.
Better late than too late! (or never)

Hey Gerry,

I have been really busy lately with life in general so I haven't been in here as much as I would like to, but I have just listened to your song "Make My Dreams Come True".

This is another fine piece of song writing and recording on your part here Gerry. The guitar tone, your singing and your guitar solo are a joy to listen to in my honest opinion. The lead guitar in the solo sounds slightly digitized but I think the warmness of the tone is very fitting!...your guitar playing in the solo is a nice piece of work.
I love how you have the fine art of tailoring your guitar solo's and intigrating them into the song so that it is a pivotal point in your song and not just a guitar solo for the sake of having a guitar solo.
The only point that I criticise constructively is that the drums sound ever so slightly a little boxy. Maybe a few tweaks around the mids to give them a little more character and life.
I look forward to hearing the bass tracked on this tune!

All in all Gerry this is another great tune to add to your collection. Thanx for sharing this with us Gerry!

I'm a fan! :)

Gorty :)

sikter - thanks for listening and you're not too late!

Gorty - thank you also for listening - glad you liked it. I will be working a little more on this to add mjhamil on bass and I will relisten and eq the drums based on your advice...thanks again!
