This is one of my first recordings using a mic on the cabinet instead of direct out the back of the amp. Direct out tends to give you a whole bunch of fuzz through my amp.

Funny you should mention Clapton.... I'm using an EC Blackie Guitar (with Lace Sensors). I've set the mid-boost on the tone knob to 3. I'm running the guitar through an old Roland GP-8 where the patch includes Compressor (50/100), 3 Band EQ (Smiley Face), and Delay (125ms). It's going into the front (not in the effects loop) of a JCM900 Model 4100 in the high gain channel with everything set to about 12:00 (middle of the range) . I'm micing with a Shure SM57 into an Alesis board, direct out to an ADAT.
