Mackie Tape-ins

I am trying to play back a turntable thru my Mackie 1402VLZ, and the problem is that the table only got RCA outs, and the only RCA ins on Mackie are the Tape-ins.

After plugging it in, there is no sound, and there isn't a channel for tape in. How do i use the tape-in on a Mackie??

RTFM and pay special attention to the block diagram and be DAMN sure you understand the block diagram. You will see that there are switches and conditions that must be met to make this work.

what model is it?

After you RTFM, you are probably better off getting 1/4" to RCA adapters for more flexibility
 
And don't forget - the RIAA compensation curve that you may (depending on the model of turntable) need an additional pre for.

What Blue Bear said is really important. You usually can't just plug the outputs of a turntable into a generic preamp, because there is a special EQ curve that needs to be applied to the turntable signal. That's the RIAA thingy Bear was referring to...)

That's why the only inputs on a home stereo preamp that should be used with a turntable are specifically labelled "phono". The easiest solution is run your turntable into a home stereo preamp, and then take the signal from that preamp to get to your mixer.
