This problem probably sounds simple to alot of you however its driving me nuts.

I have a Mackie 1202-VLZ mixing board.I use channels 1-4 as inputs. ie. guitar,vocals drum machine,synth. ect.

I use 5/6 7/8 9/10 11/12 as out puts from my computer which is where I do some mixing.

My problem is that I can`t seem to record into my computer with out picking up the sound from the previously recorded tracks. I have my main out-put going to the computer and my monitors running out of my control room outputs. Shouldn`t I be able to put on a set of head phones and hear the guitar track while recording my vocals and not have my guitar track come through on my vocal track.

Any help would be appreciated

Thx......JR

I'm using the 1202 as well. I normally record one thing at a time and I send my cards output to the tape in RCA inputs but I still might be able to help a little. Take everything you want to record and send it to aux 1. Then use that as your output to your card. That way any channel that is not being sent to Aux 1 will be heard through the headphones but not recorded.
