I've had my eye on getting a pair of these in the next 6 - 12 months. I was then informed that these aren't so good for mixing, but better for mastering.

Does anyone else have any feedback?

thanks again

Not so good for mixing, but good for mastering? Ummm, ok...
Anyway, they sound great and they translate really well, and you wont find anything for the price with the low end kick that those have. I like them alot, and will probably eventually have a pair for my home stereo also. They get loud, too.

What you hear was, to be honest, a complete bunch of crap.;)

They are very good monitors for tracking and mixing, but I wouldn't use them for mastering.
I have done a couple of projects with nothing but the Mackies, without any problems. The only thing I would say is that, mainly because of their extended low frequency response, they are very sensitive to placement. Saying that, they have very adequate compensation settings for positioning on the rear panel.

Your home speakers tube? They might be a little directional for that, they have a pretty narrow sweet spot, ideal for nearfields but......
I'm planning a home surround system with 5 LSR25's and a sub, that should be nice, as the 25's are small enough to position them wherever they need to be.

Yeah, perhaps... they do sound good though. I was looking at the SLR series, and musicians friend has them pretty damn cheap. I think the 25's were like a hundred something each... are they pretty decent?

better than the legendary "Optimus Ones"?

Ha!...some people have sworn by those over the little Auratones, etc.!! ya gotta be kidding!!!
