Just another guy, really.
One on craigslist here, guy wants $900! No way, but IF there is any
compatability or usability with an HD24, I might make him an offer. We own a
HD24 already, I am thinking the Mackie MIGHT allow us to record in up to 48
channels at once? I mean, I know we can- send 24 channels to the Alesis, 24 to
the Mackie- but will they sync together, for record and playback?

What is a GOOD (not fair to buyer, just good for me) price for a HDR24?

Does the Mackie have any features (besides the mouse/monitor hookup ability) the Alesis lacks?

I did a search, and did find some useful info, but not the answers I am looking for.

Thanks.

I kinda doubt that the file formats are the same so hard drives won't be interchangeable. I'd also check to see if the in/out interfaces on the Mackie were compatible with the rest of your system because I recall there being several different configurations available when these were new.

A guy from the HD24 yahoo group weighed in- they can be sync'ed together, but that's about all. I am probably gonna pass- thought about getting it for next summer's RNR camps (David and I will be splitting up, handling different camps) but if I do that, I'll probably just get another HD24.

So, question answered. Thanks.
