I read the thread you mentioned.... very informative, but some stuff was way over my head. What I did get out of it is that the Mackie HR824's may not be a very good choice. When I listened to them at GC I told myself they would be a great set of speakers for a home stereo system. At the price they wanted for them.... I felt it was too much.

Dang, I wish I had gotten into this stuff years ago.... by the time I learn enough to make confident decisions, I will most likely be deaf! <g>
