M audio mics

Hello,
I haven't seen much info about M audio mics around here. I ran into http://www.proaudiotoys.com/store/product.aspx?prdId=238474
What do you all think about it?

CAD179, and MXL 69ME are two others I'm looking at.

I've seen the question of M-Audio mics come up in a few threads here and in the search function previously, but I don't think it's really been answered in any definitive way.
There are a few folks with much love for the Solaris, but precious little word on the Luna or Nova. Since some of M-Audio's other products are widely used and recommended for home recording on this board, the silence about their mics is deafening and curious.
I posed the question before - is it because they are not first and foremost an audio company? Is the assumption (or testing) that the best interface company's microphone is inherently inferior to the worst audio company's mic, regardless of price point or application? Or is nobody using them?
The CAD seems universally respected, and there seem to be more and more glowing reviews of the Audio-Technica line of products. I wonder if that extends to the AT2020, or is there some point at which the quality just drops off, as it seems to with the MXLs?
I would also love to hear more about the MXL V69ME & the V960 from others here. I know kidvybes is a big fan of these mics, and I know that personal taste and applications vary greatly, but I'd love to hear the whole pro and con about using them for a particular, specific flavor, or to fit a certain type of voice.

Massive Master and Sile appear to be big proponents of this mic. It seems to be a great multi-pattern condenser for a stunning price. Definitely one to check out. Good luck.

You are right...
lol... GAS....I'm interested in getting a few mics that would work well with my voice. And, I'm interested in 'vintage' replica mics. I also want to experiment with recording with different mics. I've been listening to a 3 cd set called Early Girls and listening to the way the singing/mics used... crazy reverb sometimes seems like too much....

And I want to experment more with backing vocals "oooos... aaaaahs" etc.

I got preamps covered. I have 2 safesound p1's and a Sebatron vmp-2000e, so now....a couple of nice mics would be excellent.

I have two M Audio Solaris mics. Love em as overheads. Also great on acoustic guitar. If you go to this link tracks 1, 2 and 4 use the Solaris as overheads and track 9 the mics are on the guitars. http://www.babyfishmouthstudios.com/Media.htm

same thing applies for the wharfedale mixers too.....people do jumping jacks for the monitors but when it comes to the mixers...its like saying the name of someone whos been banished from an amish settlement.

I have a Solaris, and I think it's great. Definitely a serious cut above my B1 and V67 for acoustic instruments...it just has more "detail" than either.
