I'm fairly new to the world of home recording so please excuse my ignorance, but i recently purchased an M-Audio M-Track standard usb audio interface and regardless of how i adjust the controls, my guitars are crackling and horribly distorted both through my headphone monitors and on the final track. Also, I've noticed that when using the interface with FL Studio i get random but fairly frequent very loud high pitched squeals of feedback/distortion through my headphone monitors. Any ideas on how to fix this? I just wanna record some demos and I was told this interface would be simple to use.
