I haven't used the audiophile, but I have a firewire solo and it performs great. Does the FW Audiophile have balanced inputs? If not I'd go with the firewire solo but that's probably a biased suggestion, it sounds as good as my 1010 imo.

You might wanna note that the Audiophile does not have built in preamps. So if you wanna record vocals with a condenser you are gonna need an external preamp with that audiophile.
