Is there any difference in the sound quality of the DMP3 (200$) and the Audio Buddy (130$?) Is there any reason I should choose the DMP3 over the Audio Buddy? Thanks.
The DMP3 is quieter, and has better sound.
It also provides full 48v phantom power, whereas the Audio Buddy does not. The metering on the DMP3 is much better too.
The DMP3 also has neato features like phase inversion, variable gain switching (32 - 66 dBs, in high gain mode, and 6 to 36dBs in low gain mode) and Lo Cut filter on each channel.

Myself and a couple of others on this Board have gotten the DMP3 from Guitar Center for around $120. if you don't mind haggling a bit I bet you can as well.
I'm still deciding whether to add another DMP-3 or an Audiobuddy, for my location work. I would need 4 channels with phantompower, since my harddiskrecorder doesn't provide any, but yeah, 2 DMP-3's might be very bitchin' next to eachother in the rack.
Hey, instead of an audiobuddy, get two of Behringers new toob preamp. Just slightly above the AB price, and you get two led stacks, and whoever falls for this, can report how they hold up.
