Hey everyone -
I'm just getting started with computer-based recording (haven't bought anything yet) and have a few questions. Pretty much my only criterion is that I'd prefer four mic inputs (for drums, so I'm thinking of the MG10/2 mixer). After that, I was thinking the mixer's RCA line outs could be plugged into the Audiophile soundcard RCA's line ins, which then would be plugged into the firewire port on my laptop.
OK. First of all, are the RCA "Rec Out" outputs on the mixer even line level outputs, which therefore could be plugged into the Line In's on the soundcard? Here are their specs (I have no idea what they mean, but maybe it will help--)
Connection: 2TR OUT [L, R]
Actual source impedance: 600 Ω
For use with nominal: 10 kΩ Lines
Output level (nominal): -10 dBV (245 mV)
Output level (max before clip): +10 dBV (2.45 V)

More importantly, is this a reasonable setup, in terms of cost and what I want to do? Or are there better options? I've heard great things about the MG10/2 for the price, but not too much about the Audiophile, anyone have any experience with that? Any input would be appreciated - thanks!
