Hi.

I use the JV-1010 live on stage in my one man band. Up until lastnight, I simple loaded a sysex message that loads the GM emulation performance mode, then I would simply use the INS file with cakewalk and change to all the wonderful patches I loved. I would save my midi files, and all was great. When I loaded them up, they would play using the instruments I had chosen. Well, Last night I setup to play, and loaded a song, and my instruments were totally different, and when I would change a single instrument, it would chage the other channels too, and the sysex to go into performance mode is in the song and being sent, and my GN emulation sysex is being sent. I tried everything I could think of. Well, thank goodness I had saved a backup of my midi's in GM format, and I loaded them with a GM reset message and they played fine in the GM mode on the 1010, so I was able to do the show, and all went well.

The only thing I can think of, is that I was messin with the soundiver program trying to learn. It is a complicated thing. Well, I think I may have over written my normal user performance thing or something. I remember it saying that "this will overwrite your user area" or something like that. I can't remember if I went ahead and did it or not, but something has damn sure changed. Is there a way to reset the 1010 to original factory settings? I don't have the manual, and I have a big gig tomorow night for the heart foundation, and I could possibly get more gigs out of it. I need to sound my best. What the hell have I done to my 1010? I restart it, I make sure it is in performance mode, I even send it a GM off message, and then send my performance on with my GM emulation bank. The sounds are screwed up, and when I change one channel, they all seem to change somehow. The other day, I was also messing with the edit mode. I pushed the two buttons in and turned some dials, just seeing what would happen.

I need all you experts out there to walk me through this.

Thanks for any help.

Jeff

Well... There you have it.

I don't know how to reset it, but you might call one of these numbers...
