Looping drums in N track

I've exported drum patterns from Fruity Loops in N track and they are about 2 sec long, I can't get these things to loop in N track continously,I've copied pasted and it makes a new track, I want it all on one track, what am I doing wrong???

Why are you only exporting 2 second loops? It's >much< easier in any sequencer (not just n-track) to build up entire phrases of 4 or 8 or 16 measures - or even the entire song- in Fruity and then export them as a .wav you can bring into the sequencer.

Don't make things harder for yourself.

That said, when I do a short phrase in FruityLoops I bring it into n-track, turn on the grid, highlight it and hit copy (control-c). Then just hit shift-control-v (paste at end of loop) until it fills up as much of the track as needed.

Be careful about cutting off cymbal tails when looping.If you have a cymbal ringing at the loop point,there will be an audible noise as it is cut off.On the other hand,if you choose the "wrap" function when exporting from fruity,now the tail will be at the beginninng of the track!My solution is to clone the pattern instead of looping it,so the cymbals ring and fade naturally.Timing has to be done by hand using offset,bet the final result just sounds better.I agree with Slack.2 seconds is way too short for a pattern,too obvious to the listener its only a pattern.My patterns average about a minute.Try to fool 'em a little bit.

The problem is I can't make the wave any longer than two sec, how do i change the measures, I made the pattern but the pattern is only two sec, that's my problem, I would like to make about a minute then loop it on N Track but that's my problem, I don't know how.

Ohhhh, you don't know how to sequence in Fruity??? ReadTheManual. All you have to do is open the sequencer window and in the pattern click the little button (it's tiny) that says "Song" instead of "Pattern"!

You can build quite complex sequences in Fruity and it's well worth learning how to use it... it's a great tool. Some people use Fruity as their main sequencer!

You should also be on the lookout for "Computer Music" magazine ( www.computermusic.co.uk ) in the bookstore. They've been running tutorials on Fruity and each issue comes with a CD that not only has great software - some demo, some full versions - but also tons of free samples that can be used in Fruity and N-Track or any other program. Definitely worth the price!
