Slowing becoming un-noob.
My next investment is in some pedals...I want some things that make some crazy ass sounds...Definitely a phaser, flange, chorus, tremelo, and such.....so....anyone have any good ones to look into? I just want some things to mess around with...I don't need anything that amazing for most of those except the phaser. I want a nice phaser...

Anyone know of any other pedals that are fun? And anyone know of some good brands that aren't too expensive?

Thanks!!

-Elliot

MXR Phase 90 or Phase 100. Preferably older non-LED models.

About anything by Keeley, but particularly the compressor and modded Boss CE-2 Chorus.

H&K Rotosphere mkII or Korg G4 for faux Leslie sound.

Older Matchless pedals if you can find one - the Hotbox in particular.

Anything by these guys is a blast.

Click the "Moogerfoogers" tab.

I have the MF-102 and 104 Super Delay, and also a Voyager Electric Blue, VX-351, and CP-251.

The new 107 looks very far out.

Every guitar player should have a decent envelope filter too. ;)

Tonefactor has the best phaser, Voodoo Lab has the best chorus, Damage Control has the Glass Nexus, fantastic if you can afford it.

Otherwise surf ebay for the Boss pedals, they aren't bad for the money.

Yeah, the EHX Q-Tron is a lot of fun. I got a used Guyatone delay for about $70 bucks mint.

Your guitar+amp combination will make a lot more sense sonically if you start with a good EQ pedal. Blues Driver or a Sparkle Drive if you want over drive. then the delay, and run the chorus or phaser in the fx loop.

If you get the Phase 90 try and get one with the R28 mod unless you are willing to track down an old script model. Do a google search for it there is a ton of info out there about the mod.

For something a little strange (if you want it to be), take a look on ebay for the DOD Vibrothang. It's a vibrato pedal, but there are a few other controls on there that allow you to make it do some weird stuff with. And it's cheap too...

My ibanez CF7 does some cool stuff, most people disregard it due to its low price, but its definetly worth its price and more. Chorus/flanger and a switch that gives you another cool warped version of the effect.

Apart from that one, the vodoo lab stuff is sick but expensive, mmmm Mxr;s classic phaser is a must for some.

my electro harmonix Frequency Analyzer is in the post (today tomorrow or wednesday hopefully!) and it's going to be a bit crazy. i'm going to record a bit of 'experimenting' maybe, just for the hell. so i'll stick that up when it comes!

my russian small stone phaser hasn't caused any problems for me, but i've heard that it has for some people? nice sound.

Andy.

Wow! Thanks everyone! this is great. I'll look into all of these pedals eventually, don't have time right now.

Anymore oddball pedals you can think of or any great pedals, just post 'em here. Much appreciated!

Thanks!

Oh yeah, Geoffrey Teese wah-wahs.

RMC3 is a tweakers delight. ;)

Octave dividers and ring modulators are fun too.

Last one, I promise.

And the one you'll use the most.

Peterson VSII virtual strobe tuner.

Best $200 ever spent in a studio.

Alright, so I'm looking into the Voodoo Lab Chorus pedal. Does it have an ac adapter I can get for it? I hate having to buy batteries over and over.

Thanks!

If you can find a Japanese made Boss they are pretty sweet but yes the VooDoo has a power option

Here are the pedals I'm considering now.
Pedals I'm considering buying
DOD FX22 VibroThang Vibrato Pedal
Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor Pedal
MXR M-101 Phase 90 Pedal
Marshall ED-1 Edward Compressor Pedal
Marshall GV-2 Guv'nor Plus Effects Pedal
BBE Sonic Stomp Pedal
Pedals I already have
DOD YJM308 Yngwie J Malmsteen Signature Overdrive Pedal
Ibanez DE7 Delay/Echo Pedal

Any comments on what I should change? or anything else I should get?

I'm still looking for a chorus pedal, I finally decided that voodoo lab was just too much money for me. Any other suggestions?

And one last thing. Anyone know anything about the Marshall Pedals? I've heard some good things, and also Marshall seems trustworthy to me.
Thanks!

I've not heard anything good about any Marshall pedals.

The easiest thing to do fir Chorus is get a CE5 off of ebay.
