Im going to be recording drums in a small carpeted room and would appreciate any tips anyone has on room treatment. Thanks a bunch

Speaking for myself and circumstances, I've recorded in a small carpeted "drumroom" with carpeted walls and ceiling that was primarily built for practice only and I will say first off, my drums sounded really dead when I tried to record them. It depends on the room, the drums and what you want and how much carpet we're talking about. Is the carpet on the walls? Is it solely for sound reduction? Please give a few more details and I'm sure you'll get a good idea of the right thing to do with the collective responses you'll get here and they will vary. Actually, this question might be better answered by the folks in this forum:

Hopefully that link will work....it's the studio building and room treatment forum...those guys probably know best what they're talking about. Hope that helps.

Ryan,
If you are looking for suggestions concerning the room, may I suggest setting up the drums on a sheet or 2 of plywood. It will help the drum sound greatly.

Good tip. How many tracks do you have for drums?
