Hi, I'm looking around for a recording snake because my "control room" is in a separate room from my drums. Now, keep in mind I'm in Canada...southern Ontario to be exact. So if I do order offline keep in mind it has to be from a site that will ship to Canada. Hopefully some people on here are from Ontario and can suggest a store or something I could order one from.

Basically I just need 8 XLR connectors, nothing too fancy, and I'd like to stay under the 200 range. Any suggestions?

Blue Bear should be able to give you an answer--his studio is in Canada.
Give him a post.

Oh yeah, any microphone suggestions are welcome too. I'm thinking of buying from Lakeshore Music (Long & McQuade) in Burlington, because they have a much wider selection than any place around here. I'm looking at condensor for vocals, but again, nothing too fancy or pricy.

 Yo Crash:

Just wait a week or so until 2005 gets here; you should find some good prices on mics.

The AKG 3000 is a decent mic but the AKG 4000 is better and, as usual, costs more.

I have a 3000 but it is resting as I now use the Shure ksm 32--I specialize in up front vocals so my choice of mics may not be what you're after. Check in the mic forum.

Hey man! Im a Canadian too! I live in New Brunswick...so i always have trouble looking for sites that ship up here. But i also found a solution. Hopefully u live near the us boarder...well if not you may have to drive some. Well you set up a post box in the closest city in the United States to where you live...i think it costs like under 50$ and they last for 6 months. Then what you do is you go to like Musicians Friend (www.musiciansfriend.com) or SweetWater or any other place to order gear and you get them to ship it to the location of where you set up the box. Then once the package is in, you drive accross the boarder and pick it up...and then taking it accross the boarder you MAY or May not have to pay duties...Hope that helps for ordering.

On Musicians friend i found this snake: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=rec/s=headphones/search/detail/base_pid/330127/

and it is under 100$ US. so i hope that helps!

I'll look into it, but in my situation I don't think the box thing will fly very well. What I meant to say was a snake with like a breakout sort of box at the end, my bad, heh.
