Hat STYLE. Not contents.
Hi folks, I'm looking for 2-3 people/bands to collaborate on a song idea I had. Essentially, the song would be a dialog between two characters with brief musical interludes connecting their sections. Each character is stylistically completely different from the other, and the interludes are a third style entirely. I figured the most interesting way to get this contrast would be to actually have 3 separate people record one part each!

I wrote a version of the whole song, but it didn't turn out very interestingly. A weird collaboration might just salvage it though!

Anyone interested?

Maybe, it would depend. I do like the idea.

What exactly is the dialog, and what genres?

Well, I was hoping to not reveal the plot in the public thread yet, but since the reaction has been so enthusiastic within the first day of posting... :D

I'd be pretty flexible about the exact genres involved.

The song is called Vlad the Impala
Character 1 would be an Anne Rice-style vampire brooding about how terrible being immortal is (so some kind of goth rock or industrial music)
Character 2 would be a resident of a utopian sci fi universe (e.g. Foundation or The Culture) talking about how awesome being immortal is. (Probably some kind of new wave).
With the instrumental bits linking the two characters in a rockabilly style.

The idea is interesting. I'm thinking it might need a third part as sort of a resolution between the conflict set up between the two previous parts.

It's possible. I hadn't really thought of resolving the conflict. (I've often thought that the actual answer to "who wants to live forever?" should be "maybe anyone? Maybe?")

A denouement might be something that the rockabilly part could incorporate. Or it could be another genre entirely. Do you want to take that part, David?

Bump before this hits page 2 and is lost into the aether forever.

Anyone? It'll be fuuuUuun!
