Hiya people, this is my first post, and I am in the middle of trying to write a 10 track album more for personal experience than for being recognised (unless anyone wants to sign me!)

I've been using FruityLoops 3 to create the backing music and laying guitar/vocals over the top using CoolEdit Pro.

I want to hook up with any MCs etc who would be interested in helping me out here.

I can MP3 the backing tracks and upload them to my server (250mb of space) so if anyone would like to freestyle over some of my stuff I would be very pleased.

So far I have remixed and written a couple of tunes, but these are still in beta.

Visit the above links for more info. I didn't want to use anymore music/film samples and was kinda hoping someone would be out there!

As for style I am looking for artists who sound like either Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit) or some of the older Black hip hop like Public Enemy/Run DMC.

Cheers

Keith

If you don't ask, you don't get...

Just thought I'd mention it... at the moment I don't know _any_ hip-hoppers here in the uk, so if I could contact somone, then it would be lovely!

aight!

I'll go easy on you, there's tons of hiphop/emcees coming out the UK, I live in Canada and I still now that. So look around, mayby go to a local hiphop spot, get some coffee, chill and ask anyone who comes in...that's how you meets peeps, frea'l don't go to no internet site asking, because frea'l that just aint cool.
You gotta just connect with peeps on a personal level.

I just met an emcee a few weeks ago that's got hella skill, just by looking at his hat with a crew that I like on it, and stright up appearance to ask him if he rhymes.

Any one who has skill aint going to even reply to this shiet unless your beats are incredible, which you did put up for display and that's good. Also, Go to a real hiphop site...

last of all Fred Durst sucks really really bad, and why would you wanna mimic waht's already I thought known as lame and blown up, that's incredibly lame haha. mayby be open to everyone's voice and you'll find someone who sounds dope and wait wait the magic word "original".

Also no emcees today wanna sound like some old school shiet hahahaha, sorry it's just to hilarious... no one wants to hear shiet that sounds like that shiet either. It was good twenty years ago, not anymore...it's actually really horrible now, except for the fact it's old which make's up for it.

Don't try to sound like anyone else. most people that make music arnm't trying to sound like anyone. atleast try to sound like someone that sounds good ahahaa, take care bro.

Cheers for yer comments!

Thanks for the comments Mate... will bear that in mind, as for referring Old School as Lame... its personal preference mate!

I wanna try and fuse a little dance to a hip-hopper and In my head, the sound I am going for is a real deep sounding dude. Here where I live there is not really ANY hip hop nights in pubs, which is why I play in a rock band ;)

With the joys of MP3 and FTP Sites, I reckon I could hook up with an emcee from Stateside and make a little noise together (cummon it would be cool to say that is what you did!?).

People might not like Fred Durst, but I reckon he's got a unique sounding voice (sounds a little weak at times) but I like the fact that he shouts a little.

Seems to me that everytime I place a comment up here, I get flamed :(

Someone must have an idea of where I can go... I was going to download a few tracks off of mp3.com and have a listen then contact them directly... so far this seems to be the only way I am going to get any feedback...

If anyone else has an idea, I'd love to hear it!

Dont stress.

The greatest part about asking on the internet is people don't shy from their true oppinions. Do what you wanna do, I'm only one person with my veiws. Fred's voice might be alright, but as a musical icon he stands for everything most musicians are against of lately. Yeah it is personal preference, but it's over...why would you want an old school sunding emcee with boring flows and bland delivery as of the old days were. People are doing amazing things now with flows/vocals etc.
Although I've met many with that same delivery they arn't hard to find. Internet's not alll that bad to look for people in lots of case's but unless your willing to move, odds are 99 percent of the time you wont live near who you meet on here. I'm half way across the globe from you in example. If you have any hiphop stores, that specialize on idie/underground groups or just in general "hiphop" you should just ask those that come in, which is what i would do, but you could also just put up a flyer about your search to build with a vocalist and I'm sure you might get some. Myself I wouldn't reply to it though, just because I feel meeting people through my travels feels better and not so manufactured, but to each his own ofcourse... one!

hiphop is like a community if your ireally nto it, you just get to know who's who and who's doing what in your area.
