soundchaser59 said:If that's the case then check affordableaudio.com. He is a Yorkville dealer, Yorkville distributes Apex mics. The guy will quote you at 60% of list + shipping, and he posts the MSRP list on his web site so you can see for yourself. I think that puts the Apex 210 at about $150 to my door.

Search - APEX 205.
I might have to get one just to see if it can be used.
I'm afraid I don't have the cash for a really good pre amp to push it up without getting noise though.
If anybody has used one of these I'd like to hear what they have to say.

False premise. The 205 doesn't necessarily sound better than the 210. It depends on what you want. I sold my Nady RSM-2 (which is the same as the 210) to get an AEA R92, and now I miss it a lot because the Nady is the best glockenspiel mic I've ever used, and I record a lot of glockenspiel. Therefore, I'm not interested at all in the 205, but I'm very interested in getting either a Shinybox 23 or a Apex 210, or maybe even another Nady RSM-2.dkelley said:But if it's the same as the shinybox 46 then it's actually better sounding than the apex 210 which costs at least 50% more, so, you know, why buy a 210 when the cheaper 205 sounds better?
