Looking for a control computer surface

I was looking at something like this


it says it supports pro tools, but when I looked at the date of the reviews, they span back to 2004. didn't know if it would still be able to work with pro tools le 7. that's the recording software I have btw, so I need a ccs that will support it. I would rather stay around the $600 range, rather than having to fork out $1200 for the cheapest Digidesign one. any suggestions, or confirmation that the above one is still able to work with pro tools and is a good product?

EDIT: I can't post urls, but I was talking about the Mackie Control Universal 8-Channel Master Controller
 
I am looking to get the mackie master control unit the new USB one. there is the odd midi based one still being sold

I was under the impression that most all ProTools software responds to the Mackie HUI protocol, which would lead me to believe that any Mackie unit, or other brand that can emulate Mackie HUI, should be able to control your PT rig.

I'm sure someone can shed some more specific info on how the settings should look or correct me if it is not HUI that is used...
