Looking for a collab - Singer needed - Coldplay-ish song

Hey,

This one is free for all interpretations, the mix is really rough still, simple songstructure, so open for a lot of creativity ;)

Do you have any sense for the words (or exact words)? Or melody for the words?

Cool track, I'd like to give it a stab sometime, haha, but I suck at writing lyrics and singing softer so it's probably not going to happen :D Who knows though...

about the song...
IMO, I think it'd sound cool to start the song off with the same rhythm but ighter, maybe with just acoustic or piano or both... then when the same rhythm comes in at 1:12 it'll have more impact and build to the song. Just a thought... ;)
 
Okay, I've been thinking about this off and on for a while. I came up with something for the chorus, but I'm running short on ideas for the verse. Everything that I come up with just seems too similar to the chorus.

Since this thread needs a bump anyway, I thought that I'd post what I have to see if this sparks an idea for someone else. This is a pretty rough version:



If this doesn't fit the spirit of the song, that's cool - but I hope that it will be at least mildly interesting (or get you on the path to finishing this song).
 
That's great!! I love your voice, and the idea of the chorus. Really makes it a Coldplay-clone though but I don't think it's that bad. I'm honoured!

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. I listened to that first Coldplay album quite a bit - so if you are looking to get away from Coldplay-ish melodies, I probably didn't help you with that..

And thanks for the compliments, that's very nice of you!
 
No that´s no problem, it doesn´t sound like a rip-off. Had any chance to work on on this?
 
Sorry, I've been distracted by the latest Duncan Sheik album. He included a free DVD with all the raw tracks for each instrument (they are mixed - vocals have compression and reverb, drums are summed to one track, etc).

Still, it's darn fun to take his basic guitar and voice tracks and make totally different music around it!

I like your song a lot too, but I'm a huge Duncan Sheik fan so don't take any offense to this.

But if others post more ideas, I'll try to keep the ball rolling. And I'm obviously fine with someone else taking my idea and running with it...
