Well, FWIW, I think the drums need to come up just a bit. They seem a bit subdued. It's a pretty good song, and she can really sing! I was catching a bit of Chrissy Hynde in the opening. I love busy bass lines too.

OK, now those with good ears, have at it...

Yeah, the drums in music like this.

I tried em a little more up front.

I tried em in back.

Personally i dig em in back so the vocal dosent compete with them too much.

Thanks for the listen Rokket.

Actually, if you just gave the snare a little more snap, the levels should be fine. I should have said that earlier...

ok man, thanks.

It's not that the drums are too quiet, it's that the vocals are way up front. Make the vocals part of the music. If you pull the vocals back I'm sure you'll hear some other elements that you can pop out to make the song more dramatic.

Ok, thanks for the tip Michael.

Somewhere in the highs where the acoustic guitar pick meets the hat sound there is a crowding that is slightly distracting.

I would pull some of the pick sound out and dull that hats a tiny bit.

The bass could be a lot more shaped and present in the mix to my ears on these speakers.

Cool production though.

Good stuff Jake.
Thanks.

Good Stuff..

Rokket hit it with the Chrissy Hynde comment.

I think the over all mix just needs som low end "umph" The high end is just taking over the mix.
I'd like to really here the kick and bass guitar defined a bit.

I love the over all recording of the drums though. I like the way you can really hear the room.

I think the mix of the lead vocals and back ups is fantastic. Just enough of everything.

Good song too.

Ok thanks shookie, ill look into some definition eq'ing of the kick'n'bass.
I probably boosted a bit too much in the 60-70hz area of the bass guitar which is eating the kick for breakfast.
Ill go towards the 700-800hz area and try that with the bass.
It oughta help free up some kick rom while defining the bass better.(fingers crossed)
