I dont hear the amount of tracks being a problem. The drums and bass seem to be occupying odd frequencies, especially the bass, some kind of low-mid clutter. The vocals are buried, cant make out a single word. All the other instruments sound shelved OK to me. Cool aggressive song, would definately be more enjoyable with better mix. Welcome.
ummmmm....wow, lots going on. 15 pc. ensemble here? Good musicianship. I'm not diggin the annoying Casio keyboard sound and some of the high gtr sounds. Vocals and bgvs could use a bump. Other than that, it's better than I could do with all that stuff.
PDP, I was fighting the bass more than usual with this song. I am thinking that maybe because the bass lines are almost an octave higher than most in rock-ish type music it is throwing me off. I will take a listen again with what you said in mind and eq in hand.
You both mentioned vocals being low. Me and a limiter have not developed a good relationship yet. When I limit to get a bit more volume my relative levels change more than I expect.
maximusbs, just a 4 piece. The ability to lay as many tracks as possible can be a detriment. Every idea is recorded... yikes. The keyboardist has a real affinity for cheese. (both meanings) He brought up the idea of calling the album "American Singles" at one point.
I'm listening with headphones and it sounds like one cool song! The bass is kind of lost in there somewhere. The vocals seemed good to me and I had no trouble hearing the lyrics.
I like the tune though, reminds of Talking Heads meets Mr. Bungle
Song is pretty cool. The voice is a bit buried. Cymbals are a bit too loud. I don't hear the 50+ tracks though, just some mud in the lower regions which you can treat with EQ. Bass git sounds pretty defined in my phones. If you manage to solve the problem with the voice, i believe the rest won't be a big deal. Nice work over all.
