Long distance recording

I would like to know what method people are using to send recordings back and forth to add tracks. If I am in Virginia and send a recording to Nashville to put some insturments on it and send it back, what is the most common way to send it back and forth. This is without snail mail of course... all via computer. What is the newest version to send tracks long distance?

open a direct link on a messaging service and send the wave file...if you have a personal server then set up an ftp
