Logic does not sync with Direct I/O enabled

I hav just bought a Digi 001 system with Pro Tools LE. I am a long-time Logic Audio user and while I plan to migrate to PT, I still have a need to run Logic. PTLE installed and runs without a hitch. Having decided the Wavedriver is not a usable piece of software (little eufemism), I am using Logic using the Direct I/O drivers. This works fine, with one exception: Logic will not sync to incoming MTC with Direct I/O enabled. This is the same for MTC through Digi´s MIDI port or any other port. Disabling Direct I/O in Logic resolves the issue, but then I cannot use any audio. PTLE for its part receives MTC correctly, including through the Digi 001. MMC is transmitted correctly by both PTLE and Logic in all configurations.

I really appreciate any help with this.

Relevant configuration details:

Intel Pentium P4 2.4GHz
ASUS motherboard with Intel 865 chipset and 512MB RAM
Windows XP
PTLE 5.3.1
Logic Audio 5.5.1

The ASIO drivers do not come with the box, but, more importantly, they are beta drivers and Digidesign doesn´t warrant they will work. Direct I/O in Logic works very well so far. It´s just the dang MIDI...
