The timing is way too tight and good. I mean, if you're going to cover zeppelin, don't you have to take a cup full of barbiturates and then smack your temple with a hammer before you record?

Mixwise, it's very good, as usual...I think you could get away with bumping the bass up a bit. Maybe not, it's hard to tell without hearing it. Maybe it's just the bass tone. Hell, it's probably fine, I'm just trying to be constructive. Kinda' hard with your mixes.

Thanks Chris and bigtom.

Ya think the bass is too low? On my setup it's bordering on being too loud.

Hi, Greg!

Sorry for not comment things like frequencies/pan/mixing (altough seems ok)...I´m returning home today (only thinny pc speakers here)

But, Greg, Congrats for the performance, very, VERY good !!
Just curious, is a flanger or some synth at "b" part (0:20)?

Thanks a lot CIRO. It's a phaser on the right rhythm guitar. I don't do synths. :p

No man.

I mean, yes, the instruments and performance are there. But you took it from "A" to "D" and brought the vocals down an octave. I know it's a hard song to sing, and you gave it it's own sound. But I find doing that to the vocals is a cop-out. Better to try and nail those vocals. Considering what you did to the key, you're only singing it a few notes lower than the original. With a little effort, you could have done it in the original key. Also, the higher key makes the overall song sound less beefy, if that's the right word.

The mix is good, and the drums sound REALLY good,

Sorry man, that's the best I could do. I'm no singer, and there's NO WAY I can sing it in it's original key. I tried it in E, and even then I was sounding like a screechy retard, so I tuned my guitars down to D but still played it in the E position and this is what I came up with. :D

Thanks for listening. :)

Aaaahhhh...I think you're a better singer than you think. We all are. Crank it up in your phones and wail away!!!!

:D :D :D

Lol. Thanks. But I know my vocal range is paper-thin. It's best for humanity if I don't venture outside of that range. :D

It's not too loud, or bordering on it, but it's probably fine. I think it's a drum thing with me...the drums sound soooo good with plenty of body that the bass seems to lack, that it makes the bass sound thin, even though it's articulate.

Seriously, it's probably fine...I'd like to hear it with the bass up 3 db, or (even better) boosted sort of wide around 125Hz. It may suck, lol.

And there's no way I could sing this song in its original key or anywhere close to it. I mean, I could go all falsetto and do it, but it'd just sound weird, lol.

Okay thanks Chris. I'll play with it some and see what it sounds like.

Not as heavy as the original, but still good. You made it your own style. I like it. Mix sounds great.

At the risk of slighting all the other really worthwhile covers that have been posted, that has to be the best cover I've heard on this site.

Sometimes covers are so far removed, the original is missing. And sometimes they're such close imitations, there's no originality. But this one was perfect--I could hear Led Zeppelin somewhere in the back of my head, but it was still more like your song...

Great job!

Well played, your a good instrumentalist. To pull this of. Props to you.
The recording is clean and spotless.

I would also like to hear Zeppelin screamed as high as possible (like rami said), but hey its your version, and it sounds good.

You deal with the hand your dealt or something:D

anyways, with that musicality and preformance level, you cant have it all its not fair:D

thanks for sharing, this rockin tune:)

Nice performance!

I'm listening with USB headphones so I can't comment on the mix. Not to mention, I'm still a noob at mixing anyway. I kinda agree with Rami about the vocals, but I also like how you made it your own. To hell with humanity, let us have it!!! :D

Oh, and btw, loved your cover of "America, F**k yeah!" Haha! Good stuff.

Thanks a lot. Thats quite a compliment. I do try my best to do covers justice - especially if it's a classic like this one. Thank you. :)

You're a humanitarion. You're Hard-Rock Ghandi. :p
Lol. Just don't expect me to go weeks without eating or anything like that. :p

Thanks a lot. I did that one with my old drum setup and recording process. I need to redo it, but glad you liked it.

I really don't do high-register stuff very well. I can screech out some backups or whatever, but I can't sing a whole song in the higher ranges. There's no way I could do this one like the original. There's just no way. I just focused on getting it into my wheelhouse, getting the notes and phrasing right, and getting the backup harmonies halfway decent. :D
