I have a live show to record in a couple of weeks at reasonable size venue.
The band consists of
4 Vocals 2 Main/2 backing though one of the backing singer sings main on 1 song only
2 guitars
1 bass
1 keyboard
and drums
(I know.....like an orchestra)
The sound engineer is using a mackie 16cfx
For recording I will be using my Yamaha aw16g which records 8 tracks simultaneous. I plan to use splitters from the sound engineers mics and bus the drums as I don't have enough inputs!
I'm now thinking of taking my laptop as well with my m audio pro to give me another couple of inputs and perhaps putting a couple of my condensors around the drums???
The probems I forsee would be syncing the tracks when I mix down and the laptop stuttering as it would be recording 1 hour of audio (this would be a disaster!!)
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated
The band I'm recording are called Saint and the cynics www.myspace.com/saintandthecynics
