been trying to post a thread here for 30 min.and can't get the damn thing to take it

Good, now maybe I can post this :p

I did this while running sound for some good friends of mine. The club's house system has a little Allen and Heath wiz mix board with pre-fader direct outs on each channel, so I took the HD-24 along for the ride to catch some tracks while sipping some brews and tweaking the knobs.

3 piece band, set up pretty simple. 3 mics on drums (kick, snare, overhead) guitar amp and bass, single vocal. Added a couple LDCs xy'd back at the mix position. 8 tracks total.

Just fooled with this mix for about 1 1/2 hours. It's a cover of Cheap Trick's cover of Fats Domino's "Ain't That a Shame. cover of a cover....hey, I like that :D

thanks in advance for the listen....... :)

The mix could use a bit more bass... meaning up the bass guitar level and add bass to the overall mix itself.... Sort of like when you push the loudness button on your stereo.

Other than that this is a nice recording of a live mix. Especially like the vocal sound.....

Definitely would go see this band play....

:D :) :D

thanks for the listen. I was listening in the car on the way to work and was thinking the same thing about the bottom end, that it might be just a bit shy there.

They are a great band, this was not one of their best nights either. Next time they play this club, I'm going to track them again and see how many good performances I can get, hopefully put together a nice live disc for them.

Sounds like a good show...

Could use a bit more low end, but still sounds like it was a great performance. I like the slightly rough vocals....shows it's a band not trying to be Cheap Trick...he seemed to let it fly. Nice job there. Yeah, more bass....when the solo hit, it could really fill that up.

Nice job though man...the quality is pretty clear, and most things sound nice. Just a bit of tweaking.

Thanks Dogman :)

BTW, I want to see the full pic you took that avatar from :p

Agree with what others have mentoined in regards to the low end/bass...think it could use a bit more.....band sounds great!I like the guitar sound...really close to Rick Nielson...drums sound good as well.Cool stuff!
