Am I the only one that knows? In one edition of Musician's Friend, way in the back there was a tiny ad for the new Nady SCM 1000 condenser mic for $149. I bought it, and it blows anything away in it's price. I like it better than the AKG 1000, Marshall or the NT1. It is Nady's "top of the line", dual-diaphragm, low-cut filter, -10 db pad, multi-pattern, very clean and quiet. The trick is Musician's Friend doesn't advertise it in their catalog anymore, but it's on their web page.

Note this is NOT the SCM900 for $99. The SCM1000 specs are far superior. And for $149 you can't beat it! I keep wondering if the price is a mistake! And interestingly enough, the 1000 appears to be exactly like the new Behringer mic that AMS sells for $299.

If anyone else has experience with the SCM1000 I'd like to know what they think. I also loaned mine to a friend who has some expensive condensers, and he was very impressed, and also thought the price must be a mistake.

Jump on it before it goes up!

DAMN!!! Do you work for Nady or musicians friend??? This is about the 5th post I've seen about this...:)

Thanks for the info Lunkhead. I've passed this on to some of my friends who are looking for a step up from their 57's and 58's
