ok, every studio experiance Ive had was me plugging into an amp and recording from a mic placed directly in front of it.
a while back I had a studio sit in with a friends band and the bass/guitar players all sat in a sound proof room and plugged directly into the mixer(or at least it seemed like it) which plugged into a mac laptop and it was all recorded clean and listened to through monitors.
we listen to the initial product clean then they added the effects and the guitars and bass had a much better sound/tone then I have ever recorded. Better then my live amp.
can anyone suggest a high end software that will allow me to plug cleanly into the computer, add the effects later and produce a high quality recording???
if not can anyone suggest a way for me to pull this off???? (I live in an old, unupdated, 1920's house so my noise levels are through the roof. when I plug into my amp all the lights go dim and I get a noticeable hiss when I record through a mic, but when I plug directly into the audio interface it sounds pretty clean.
any help would be greatly appreciated
