My band covers some songs of LP and wanna mix our album like LP's 2 albums. Can anyone help me on how Andy Wallace used effects on the 2 albums?
'Till now, I still think that it's very difficult to imitate Andy style on LP's albums.

it means your screwed. unless you got a fat recording contract.

Andy Wallace doesn't do most of the effects. It's done during tracking, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't touch any of that for LP. If you listen to their old Hybrid Theory stuff, the songs that carried over into LP are done in almost the same fashion...the stuttering, sampling, etc. Andy just makes it sound good.

EDIT: By old Hybrid Theory stuff, I mean when they called themselvse Hybrid Theory, not their first record.

Get the Meteora / dvd bundle. Maybe you can see what kinda gear their tracking with. It's a neve into protools I think. Not sure what vocal processing goes on in their tho. Chester kinda does effects himself too.

Pardon? What does it mean?

An SSL board means a recording/mixing console by a company called Solid State Logic out of Oxford England. A new one will cost you half a million dollars or more, but you can find used ones much cheaper than that these days.

Andy Wallace is one of my favorite mixers, but he does not really seem to do that much or add a lot in the way of effects. He is just great at getting things ballanced really well. What I like about his is that I hear the band and not him.
