Hello,
I recently bought a Sony MZ-R70. I'm pretty happy with it. However, I went to show last Thurs, Fri, Sat where the venue provided ltapers a link to record the show (Steve Kimock-amazing!). I had no idea what I was doing. I ended up linking to an analog out of a DAT with an RAC adaptor. I was wondering if it is possible to use the digital optical cable to link up to DATs. That way you don't have to mess with recording levels. I ended up only getting one decent discs worth of recording because I messed with the levels after I changed discs.

Thanks

Just make sure your MD can convert an incoming 48khz or 32khz sampling frequency to 44.1khz and you're OK. Regular MD-decks do this automatically, but i've never tried it with a portable MD. Your manual can probably help you out here.

Of course, would the outgoing DAT signal already be 44.1khz, you won't have any problems. Just get a cable with the right connectors (regular plug/mini plug).
