Alright, i just Ebay'd a Line 6 UX2 Interphase. While I had read some good reviews and seen some decent bass covers through their use, videos like this:

worry me.

Is there anything else I should buy to ensure that you can actually hear my bass? Im already getting a sansamp DI is that makes a difference. Should I look into sound cards (I have an HP laptop by the way :) ).

It works great but there are occasional pops/clicks and sometimes audio dropouts on Win 7 64 bit. I used it and upgraded to the UX8 which had the same issues.

Hello,
I don't have an UX2, but the audio dropout through USB was an issue also for me when I used the POD X3 Live on a certain specific PC, no matter the OS. But I never had any problems of this sort on my new PC. I do believe that the UX2 is subject to the same problem as the POD X3.

One thing that really works for me for obtaining better bass guitar tones with my Pod is using an ART tube MP before entering into the Pod.

Dude, the interface is nice, the drivers are whats lousy, google Asio4all V2, set your monitoring and whatnot with the line 6 drivers, then switch the ASIO in your DAW to the Asio4all for very low latency without problems with the ux2, works great!

and merry Christmas!

hahaha im very sorry, im a COMPLETE n00b when it comes to recording, interface*!.

alright, im gunna download those drivers. oh and btw, i should be fine using vista, right?

im not having problems....yet.

haha, the interface should be here today! im just wondering how i can ensure that my bass will REALLY come through and be audible without having to use headphones?

is there anyway i can mic it up so it sounds better? or should i return the interface and get something more expensive?

No go ahead and try it out and if it works fine. If not most all places have a 30 day return policy just don't misplace anything that it comes with!

the ux2 will be fine. it comes with pod amp simulation stuff that should help you start out. there will be a learning process involved, but if you stick with it you will be fine.

alright yes, im gunna try it out and see how it goes. if im not satisfied with the sound quality, would i be better off returning it and getting a better interface, or getting a DI box, preamp or mic with it (if such a thing is possible :P)

I think all the Line 6 Gear seems to have some problems when using it as a soundcard, I used to use my Pod X3 as one. I'd stick to using line 6 for guitar tone and effects personally.
